In April 2021, German Albanian Logistics Agency (GALA) organized the transport of the first windmill for Albania. „We are very proud to be part of this historic event“, says Fation Dervishi, managing director of GALA. Albania is one of the few countries in Europe which up to now has no wind parks. The country’s power supply is completely dependent on hydro power, which is deteriorating. According to a report by the European Commission,„the country has significant potentials for renewable resources in the form of biomass, geothermal, wind, and solar“. The Albanian government, supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Albania, started a program to build up solar power plants and wind parks last year.
